Peter and Vivienne were selected by my parents, Tony and Agnes Budge to act as my guardian / surrogate parents, as I was to attend boarding school in the UK whilst they were stationed in East Africa. This was when I was 13 years old and Peter was only 33!
Peter demonstrated, even then, his fearless nature in being prepared to undertake that responsibility – something for which I have been forever grateful.
Peter and Vivienne took me into their family as their own and I have such amazing childhood memories to his day.
When I married my dear Janet and we produced our three children, they immediately assumed the role of “grandparents”, whilst eagerly awaiting the arrival of their own grandchildren.
What an amazing, loving couple.
I know my parents were extremely grateful for their contribution.
Janet and I offer our deepest condolences to Michael and Mark and their families in this, their loss.
Peter, we will miss you terribly.
